LINE BRED ENGLISH PEDIGREE

Line breeding is a skill only attempted by skilled and experienced breeders such as Marion Hopkinson of Rocheby Kennel and Judith Charlton of Foxrush Kennel, both of the UK. Both of these breeders judge shows all over the world and have been breeding Labrador Retrievers for many years.
Rocheby Old Smokey (seen below on Duke's Pedigree) was the Top Labrador Sire(UK) in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.
In addition, Rocheby Old Smokey, was the Top Sire for ALL BREEDS in 2005.

Rocheby Old Smokey is the sire of Duke's sire, Ch. Rocheby Statesman. His dam, Ch. Rocheby Polkadot, was Best of Breed at Crufts the World's Largest Dog Show, in 1996-7-8, a feat never equalled !

Rocheby Old Smokey is the sire of Duke's dam, Ch. Foxrush Ovaltine. Her dam, Ch. Foxrush Giselle, is by the great Ch. Sandylans Gad About, the all time leading Sandyland sire.

This is an outstanding LINE BRED ENGLISH LABRADOR RETRIEVER PEDIGREE.

SIZE AND BALANCE

At Knobby Willow Labrador Retrievers, we wanted a new young stud prospect with SIZE AND BALANCE that included longer legs than are being present on many of the Labrador Retrievers shown in the USA. Since Labs are in the "SPORTING GROUP", what bird hunter would want a short legged gun dog ? Longer legs make for smoother movement at a trot in the show ring or running in the field.

Since we could not find that TYPE to acquire from any breeder in the USA, we looked to England, the origin of Labs to America. As we were browsing the pictures of the 2009 Crufts Show in England, we saw a female, Ch. Foxrush Ovaltine, that caught our eye out of all the entries. When we inquired of her owner, Judith Charlton of Foxrush Kennel, she told us she had a nine month old male out of Ovaltine that she had shown in four major shows in England including one at the famous Windsor Castle. She sent us pictues and on September 10, 2010, Duke arrived at Chicago O'Hare International on a British Airways flight - a tall "gangly" teenager with a wonderful attitude as if he had just been out for a short walk, not a 12 hour trans-Atlantic flight from London !

GCH Foxrush See The Stars (Duke) is our LINE BRED ENGLISH IMPORT puppy from North Yorkshire England that has become a MAN.
